Recently I've been asked by several family clients:
"What do you do with the empty boxes from electronics, shoes or even the foam top for your mattress?"
Easy! Hold on to your boxes through the Manufacturer Warranty time line, then evaluate if it will serve any other purpose {Costco purchases can still be returned in original packaging with the receipt past the manufacturer warranty deadline} If not, recycle the box.
So how do you keep track of when to purge all that packaging?
A+ tip: Use painter's tape & a Sharpie, write the date the manufacturer warranty expires on the tape & attach it to the box in an easy to locate spot. {note: they now make bright pink painter's tape, that would be perfect for things like this!}
